My name is James Stone. Hunting and fishing is my true passion in life and has been a significant part of my life for the last 25 years. Most of these experiences have been right here where I live in the heart of Northern California. I grew up in Bay Area and starting in my teenage years I would travel to many lakes, rivers and fields following my calling in life. I graduated from Sacramento State University in 2002 and later moved to the Yuba/Sutter area where I would call my home forever because of the people and the resources I enjoy most. Growing up I fished mostly competitive bass fishing tournaments between the late 90′s through 2002 and then branched out to fishing for many other species. Currently I provide guided trips for striper, salmon, sturgeon, trout, kokanee, and bass. I guide on the Sacramento River, Feather River, Yuba River, and the American River. Most of my lake trips are guided on Lake Oroville, Collins Lake, Lake Shasta, and Bullards bar. My Waterfowl hunting started back in my high school years with my closest childhood friends and current hunting partners today. At the age of 19 I was running duck clubs and continue to still run 6 different clubs today 15 years later. My guided trips are done in the heart of Northern California over rice fields mainly and goose hunts in layout blinds in dry fields. I have a spread of over 2000 decoys that I put out to ensure my clients are given the best experience possible. I guide over 80 trips each season with 4-9 people each day. Over the years I realized how much I enjoy sharing my skills and experiences with other outdoorsmen. In 2009 I opened my own hunting and fishing guide service so that I could share my passion and give amazing hunting and fishing experiences to others. My company is called “Elite Sportsmen” and my goal is to bring an elite experience to hunters and fishermen across the country. I became a licensed operator from USCG and followed my dreams to guide on the rivers and lakes I enjoy most here in my back yard. I do 4-8 seminars at local shops including Fisherman’s Warehouse, Sportsman’s Warehouse, and Guns Fishing and other stuff. I’m also on Sep’s radio show on 1140 am every Saturday from 6am-8am.
